Gossip girl meets Hollywood in this new series by Jillian Dodd

Keatyn has everything she ever dreamed of. Her life is following the script she wrote for the perfect high school experience. She’s popular, goes to the best parties, dates the hottest guy, and sits at the most coveted lunch table.

She’s just not sure she wants it anymore.

Because really, things aren’t all that perfect.
Her best friend is threatening to tell everyone her perfect relationship is a scam.
Her perfect boyfriend gets drunk at every party they go to.
It’s exhausting always trying to look and act perfect.
And deep down, she isn’t sure if she has any true friends.

To add to the drama, her movie star mom has a creepy stalker.
A hot, mysterious man keeps flirting with her and telling her they should make a movie together.
And she’s crushing on an adorable surfer. Dating him would mean committing social suicide.

So she writes a new script. One where all the pieces of her life will come together in perfect harmony.

But little does she know, there's someone who will do anything to make sure that doesn’t happen.

Book #2, KISS ME will be released Nov. 28, 2012. Also, STALK ME will be on sale for .99 the week of the tour then return to its normal price of $2.99 on Dec. 2.

(synopsis taken from Goodreads)

So I’ll be totally honest. I held some major reservations about this book when I first started reading it, but it totally drew me in. It moves in a fast pace, and certainly doesn’t bore anyone (I don’t see how a girl like Keatyn could ever bore any reader honestly).  It provides everything a good book should: ups and downs, twists and turns, fame and fortune, and the wonderous world of high school (yay, high school!).

Now I won’t give away too much because that would be telling, but there are SO MANY FREAKING GORGEOUS BOYS in this book (hehe). Really, I couldn’t stop drooling. I do however, have a favorite. Helllloooo Cush! Not only is that an amazingly unique name, but I thought “Cushburn” was pretty hilarious! Most of the time, I only champion books that are one girl + one boy = soulmates. And I certainly don’t really promote multiple relationships, because I’m a ridiculous romantic like that. Of course it’s totally unreasonable for me to think like that, so I gave it a chance. I’ll warn you now, if you’re going to fall for a male character in this book (aside from the obvious creeper one), fall for them all because otherwise you will be disappointed. (Though I will remain on the sidelines rooting for Cush!)

While reading Stalk Me I think it’s important to keep in mind that Stalk Me is based on high school aged young adults. I had to keep reminding myself that yes, some high schoolers really are like that. I wasn’t Keatyn’s biggest fan. I share the same sentiment that most readers do, if I ever met her I’d probably have to restrain myself.  One of my favorite thing about her is her nickname, Keats (strange, I know). She’s seventeen, pretty, and trying to get a grip on her emotions. Which I totally get, we’re all there at some point if we want to admit it or not!

Stalk Me was an interesting read, it pulls you along and is a decent length! Jillian Dodd has been known to produce gripping works of romance and growing up and she’s certainly done that with Stalk Me. The premise of the story is realistic enough and is pretty refreshing to read (time to let go of the werewolves and vamps, at least for a bit!). An easy read with great editing (even pretty colored text!) that introduces you back into the world of high school, where girls are fake and guys are drool-worthy. 4 Stars to a ‘Cushing’ good time!

The Secret of Ella and Micha - by Jessica Sorensen

TITLE: The Secret of Ella & Micha
AUTHOR: Jessica Sorensen
RATING: 5 Stars
PAGES: eBook
PUBLISHER: Self-Published
SERIES: The Secret of Ella & Micha #1
SOURCE: Author - Blog Tour

Ella and Micha have been best friends since they were kids. But one tragic night shatters their friendship and their lives forever.

Ella used to be a rule-breaker with fiery attitude who wore her heart on her sleeve. But she left everything behind when she went to college and transformed into someone that follows the rules, keeps everything together, and hides all her problems. But now it's summer break and she has nowhere else to go but home.

Ella fears everything she worked so hard to bury might resurface, especially with Micha living right next door. If Micha tries to tempt the old her back, she knows that it will be hard to resist.

Micha is sexy, smart, confident, and can get under Ella’s skin like no one else can. He knows everything about her, including her darkest secrets. And he’s determined to bring his best friend, and the girl he loves back, no matter what it takes.

(synopsis taken from Goodreads)

Oh. Em. Gee. Talk about a book that absolutely shook me. The Secret of Ella and Micha is probably one of the best books that have been released this year, at least in my opinion. This was my first experience reading something by the amazing Jessica Sorensen and I can honestly say, it blew me away!

This book deserves all the stars that can be given. I cried. I laughed. I smiled. I got frustrated. And, I fell in love right along with Ella and Micha. The story line itself is unique, it pulls you in and keeps you there. In the beginning we’re introduced to Ella and her roommate, Lila. The symbolism is absolutely breath-taking, and I could probably spout off and off and off about all the amazing details. But, that would be telling, and this story is meant to be read, cherished, and understood!
Ella is a spectacular young woman. Her past has done nothing but harm her, and she takes on a lot of guilt for something that isn’t her fault. With the suicide of her mother Ella decided to break away from everything. Her longtime best friend Micha (who’s tall, dark, and gorgeous of course) and her family. For that, I commend her because I honestly wouldn’t be able to do that myself. But she manages it, with strength that no one so young should have to possess merely for self-preservation. She is an incredibly deep and yet easy to understand character.

Micha though, is my personal favorite. I adore him (and have the serious hots for him!). He’s so real. He’s honest, probably almost to a fault, and a heck of a lot more intelligent than he ever lets on to. So he isn’t’ a grand gesture sort of male character but he’s simply easy to love. I love the fact that Micha hardly let’s anything gets him down.
The Secret of Ella and Micha is high up on my recommended list, it’s the kind of book that you pick up and can’t stop reading until the book’s ended. I am highly anticipating the second installment to their tale! I thought I’d share a few quotes (I promise to only give you a few though honestly, I have 75% of the book highlighted) so you all can get a bit of a taste for what The Secret of Ella and Micha has in store for you.

“They know who I used to be; a loud spoken, reckless girl, who showed what she felt to the world. There were no secrets with me.” –Ella
“Perhaps if I can get enough courage to jump off the thin ledge, I’ll soar away into the night, like a bird with powerful wings.” -Ella
“Just because it’s broken doesn’t mean it loses its importance. And I figured I’d give it to you one day when  you realized it was okay to make mistakes.” –Grady

Jessica Sorensen has written a book that deserves to be read and characters that bury themselves in your heart. And she teaches us an important lesson: Sometimes. Things are broken, and it may seem impossible to put them back together again. But, with a little trust and hard work, sometimes you find that mistakes are meant to be made and hearts can be mended. Way to go Jessica Sorensen!

Twenty-year-old Camryn Bennett had always been one to think out-of-the-box, who knew she wanted something more in life than following the same repetitive patterns and growing old with the same repetitive life story. And she thought that her life was going in the right direction until everything fell apart.
Determined not to dwell on the negative and push forward, Camryn is set to move in with her best friend and plans to start a new job. But after an unexpected night at the hottest club in downtown North Carolina, she makes the ultimate decision to leave the only life she’s ever known, far behind.
With a purse, a cell phone and a small bag with a few necessities, Camryn, with absolutely no direction or purpose boards a Greyhound bus alone and sets out to find herself. What she finds is a guy named Andrew Parrish, someone not so very different from her and who harbors his own dark secrets. But Camryn swore never to let down her walls again. And she vowed never to fall in love.
But with Andrew, Camryn finds herself doing a lot of things she never thought she’d do. He shows her what it’s really like to live out-of-the-box and to give in to her deepest, darkest desires. On their sporadic road-trip he becomes the center of her exciting and daring new life, pulling love and lust and emotion out of her in ways she never imagined possible. But will Andrew’s dark secret push them inseparably together, or tear them completely apart?

Author of THE DARKWOODS TRILOGY and DIRTY EDEN, mother, werewolf & zombie fanatic, book addict and a happy hermit obsessed with the Universe. Oh, and AMC’s “The Walking Dead”.
Addictions: Starbucks every morning, trolling Barnes & Noble’s shelves once a week, detesting winter, shopping flea markets and preparing for the collapse of society as we know it. Do I own a tin foil hat? Maybe. :-)
I was born in Arkansas and have lived here most of my life, except the couple of times when I lived in Pennsylvania. I started my first novel at the age of thirteen and have been writing something ever since. Generally, I love characters in life and on paper. I pay attention to people, especially those whose personalities make them different from the rest of us: the drug addict roaming the Laundromat that talks to himself, the young, inattentive mother in the park with the meanest kid on the playground – (the entire cast of ‘Swamp People’) – characters fascinate me and I hope that it shows in my literary work.
Some authors that inspire me are Neil Gaiman, Anne Rice, Cormac McCarthy, Max Brooks, J.K. Rowling, Richard Matheson, William R. Forstchen, Carrie Ryan, David Moody, Phillipa Gregory and Lisa Smedman. I’m always on the lookout for the next great book to pull me into its world and piss me off when I read the last page and know that it’s over.
I’m a sucker for anything Christopher Lee, Ralph Fiennes, Edward Norton and Cate Blanchett. But my biggest fan-girl superstars are Alex Filippenko, Michio Kaku, Brian Cox, Michelle Thaller and Neil Degrasse Tyson!
Also, almost more than anything I love nature and this beautiful planet that I live on. I just wish everyone else did too….

Camryn and Andrew Shopping
We head over to the medicines and there’s a middle-aged couple standing in front of the cough syrup, reading the labels.
Andrew says casually, without lowering his voice, “Babe, did you find that yeast infection stuff?”
My eyes spring open and I freeze in front of the Tylenol.
He removes a small box of Advil from the shelf.
The couple pretends not to have heard what he said, but I know they heard him.
“I mean are you even sure that’s what’s causing the itch?” he goes on and I’m literally melting from the heat in my face.
The couple does glance over this time, covertly.
Andrew is grinning his ass off at me from the side, pretending to be reading labels.
I want to smack him, but instead, I play him at his own game.
“Yeah, baby I found it,” I say as casually as he had, “what about you? Did you see if they have extra-small sized condoms?”
The woman turns her head and looks right at him, up and down, and then she eyes me before going back to reading labels.
Andrew doesn’t break; somehow I knew he wouldn’t. He just smiles over at me, enjoying every second of this.
“One size fits all, baby,” he says, “I told you they fill out better when you can actually make it hard.”
A spitting noise bursts from between my lips followed by laughter.
The couple leaves the aisle.

Incendiary by Amy A. Bartol Cover Reveal!

trade paperback release date  Nov. 30th and the e-book will be Dec. 7th
Summary:
Cold, fine drops of rain fall softly on my cheeks as I emerge from the darkness of the ship’s interior to the gray, overcast sky of the main deck. Pulling my dark pea coat tighter to my body, the wind lifts red tendrils of my hair. I walk slowly to the railing overlooking the water.
I catch my first sight of the Irish coastline; its craggy landscape makes me shiver in dread. I find it difficult to imagine now how the Gancanagh had made this their home for so long without anyone realizing it. The cold, moss-covered edifices practically scream their presence. As I study the shadows between the falling-down stone, I imagine creeping shapes of undead Faeries grasping the rock, waiting for our ship to draw nearer to their position.
Tipping my face up, I let the rain wash over me. It bathes away the frigid sweat of fear that has broken on my brow. “You don’t know how fiercely beautiful you are, do you?” A quiet voice behind me asks, causing me to stiffen and fix my eyes on the rocks along the shoreline.

Author Bio:

I live in Michigan with my husband and our two sons. My family is very supportive of my writing. When I’m writing, they often bring me the take-out menu so that I can call and order them dinner. They listen patiently when I talk about my characters like they’re real. They rarely roll their eyes when I tell them I’ll only be a second while I finish writing a chapter…and then they take off their coats. They ask me how the story is going when I surface after living for hours in a world of my own making. They have learned to accept my “writing uniform” consisting of a slightly unflattering pink fleece jacket, t-shirt, and black yoga pants. And they smile at my nerdy bookishness whenever I try to explain urban fantasy to them. In short, they get me, so they are perfect and I am blessed.
